This easy and quick low carb pizza option is tasty and high in protein! This recipe makes two servings (one serving = 1/2 pizza).
Ingredients
- 4 large egg whites (must be room temperature)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp pizza sauce
- 2 oz shredded cheese
- 1 oz pepperonis
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, add egg whites.
- Using a hand mixer, beat the egg whites until the peaks start to stiffen (no liquid).
- Add the cornstarch and continue beating, until the peaks start to stiffen more (thick
- consistency).
- Transfer the mixture onto the lined baking sheet.
- Using the back of a spoon, shape it into a circular
- pizza shape and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
- Place it in the oven and bake for 15-17 minutes, until golden on top.
- Remove the crust from the oven and top with sauce, shredded cheese, and other toppings of choice.
- Spray the crust with cooking spray and place back in the oven for 5-10 minutes, until the cheese has melted.
- Remove the egg white pizza from the oven, slice and enjoy.
