- 8 oz. protein pasta
- 2 1⁄ 2 cups pasta sauce
- 1 cup cottage cheese fat free
- 10 oz. cooked lean ground beef
- 1 1⁄ 2 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 3 tbsp parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375F.
- Cook your pasta 1-2 minutes less than your box says to (not fully cooked, still somewhat stiff).
- Mix together 1 1/2 cups pasta sauce, your cottage cheese, cooked ground beef, cooked pasta noodles (drained), 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, minced garlic, pepper, and any other preferred seasonings, spices, or herbs.
- Spray a medium oven-safe casserole dish with cooking spray.
- Layer 1/2 cup pasta sauce, your pasta and meat mixture, another 1/2 cup pasta sauce, remainder of mozzarella cheese, and your parmesan cheese
- Cover dish with foil and bake in oven for 45 minutes.
- Uncover dish and cook for an additional 8-10 minutes or until your cheese is melted.
- Feel free to add diced onions and bell peppers for more volume and flavor (cook with lean ground beef).
