This appetizing and healthy twist on the original Sloppy Joe is just as easy to prep and serve!
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp green onion, sliced
Instructions
- Add the ground beef and diced onion to a large skillet.
- Crumble the beef and cook until the beef is cooked thoroughly.
- Drain all excess fat from the pan.
- Stir together the tomato sauce, water, brown sugar, soy sauce, and seasonings (reserving the green onion) and add to the skillet.
- Bring to a low simmer and keep on low for 8-10 minutes.
Notes
SWAP lean ground beef for other variations of ground meat (pork, turkey, or chicken).
